I’ve spent a lot of time over the last few months reading other people’s blogs, sharing their good practise and fantastic ideas for the classroom. I decided it was about time that I joined them. I am already sharing my successes within the science department at school and, to a certain extent, with the rest of the staff. It would seem that to share with the wider teaching community would be the next logical step.
I have always strived to be an outstanding teacher. Achieving this aim, however, proved very hit and miss. I never really understood what outstanding meant and, although I have seen outstanding teaching, and have achieved this grade on a number of occasions, still remain reatively clueless.
This blog will serve as a record of my journey to outstanding, sharing the good practise of others and, hopefully, adding a little of my own.
I will endeavour to credit people with their ideas, where possible, or to reference the first place I learned of an idea or concept. Please get in touch if you know the origin of an idea so I can make appropriate references to it.
